Gas Springs, also known as Gas Struts or Gas Shocks provide a direct support mechanism for safely lifting, lowering, positioning and counterbalancing different weights. They are used in a wide range of industries and applications for example, commercial vehicles, machine guards, enclosures, marine, agricultural equipment, caravans, leisure and sports.
Gas struts are closed systems that are charged with inert Nitrogen gas. As the rod is pushed into the tube the available gas volume is reduced and the gas contained in the spring is compressed. This increases the pressure (or resistance to force applied) and this compression of gas creates the spring-like behaviour. A small path through the piston enables the gas to flow across the piston and provides the means of controlling the speed of the spring as it is depressed and extended.
We have a wide range of Gas Springs / Gas Struts for you to choose from below, however, we have can provide custom made Gas Springs to suit individual requirements.

Our popular standard fixed force Gas Spring and is available with a wide range of sizes and forces along with a choice of end connectors and brackets.
An adjustable version of the Standard Gas Strut and is designed to be de-gassed whilst in position on the application. Vari-Lift is ideal for low volume applications where the required force is not known. Vari-Lift gas struts are also used for prototyping and initial set-up of new applications, prior to specifying a fixed-force gas strut for volume production.
This range is made of 316L Stainless Steel and is ideal for use in harsh environment applications such as marine engine covers, doors, hatches, plus applications requiring high levels of cleanliness like the food, pharmaceutical and medical industries. Available in fixed force or Vari-Lift versions.
This Gas Spring is fitted with a safety locking shroud which automatically engages when the spring is fully extended and prevents the spring from compressing. This protects the operator from potential injury in the event of overload or misuse or loss of gas pressure. The Econoloc is manually released by applying thumb pressure to the shroud, allowing the gas spring to be compressed as normal. Ideal for applications such as truck hatches, construction machinery, switch gear and agricultural equipment where the added safety feature is required.
These multi-positional Gas Struts are fitted with an adjustable friction lock nut. As the nut is turned it increases friction on the rod and enables the spring to be set to hold the application in any position. Once the lock nut is set the operator will push or pull the application to another position and it will hold in this position exactly as it did in the initial one. These Gas Struts are typically used for low volume or prototyping purposes due to the requirement to set each spring individually. Stop & Stay Gas Springs are ideal on applications such as sunbeds, monitor arms, welding or acoustic hoods.
Cam‐Shock Dampers are self‐contained, maintenance‐free, hydraulic damping units, designed and engineered to absorb and control kinetic energy. Each Damper is designed specifically for the application it’s intended for and is available in a number of configurations including compression and extension damping, through dampers, gassed (emulsion) dampers and separator piston types.
Blocklift Gas Springs allow the application to be locked in position at any point along the stroke length, this is achieved by using an internal piston arrangement actuated by a button at the end of the rod. Blocklift Gas Struts can be rigid or spring blocking type. Spring blocking allow slight movement under load whereas rigid types do not. Blocklift Gas Springs have many different uses where infinite control of the position of the application is required, for example seat height and back adjustment, steering columns and medical beds.
This is an easy-to-use manually operated telescopic multi-positional stay designed to support up to 135kg. With fixed holding position it provides quick and easy positioning and is ideally suited for a wide range of applications. The telescopic multi-positioning Cam-Stays are universal and can be mounted with the holding slots mounted up or down. Mounting of the stays can either be directly to your application through the holes or by mounting brackets. Examples of applications include medical bed and chair footrests.
