Slip Joint

Slip joint assemblies

  • Slip Joint Assemblies have been designed to replace existing bolted or welded flange systems using fewer parts, slip joint systems are easy to assemble providing a reduction in installation and maintenance time. Slip Joint Assemblies can be manufactured to suit pipe diameters from 35mm to 350mm.
  • The Slip Joint Assembly consists of three parts - sliding catch flange (slip flare), V band clamp, and trapezoidal seal. In addition the system requires for the unflared pipe to be free-running within the flared mating pipe, allowing assembly of the joint to take place prior to final positioning of the joint.
  • The Slip Joint Assembly is an easy to fit all-in-one system that does not require welded flanges or additional gaskets. The joint assembly is quickly and easily achieved by slipping the seal and slip joint over the unflared pipe and pushed against the pre-formed flare of the mating pipe. The joint is finally achieved by placing the v band clamp over the assembly and torqueing to the required pressure by means of the clamping bolt and nut assembly.
  • Once installed the Slip Joint Assembly can accept some small axial and radial misalignment of the mating pipes.
  • The style of V band clamp that is used pull the assembly together can be offered in a variety of styles normally with either T-bolted or quick release closure mechanisms.
  • Slip Joint Assemblies can operate within gas temperatures up to 750°C. Pressure ratings vary depending on the application. The standard gasket seal is supplied in Graphite for hot gas applications, however other gasket seal materials can be offered upon request to suit other fluid/gas types.
  • Slip Joint Assemblies are offered in high grade manufacturing materials to include Stainless Steel Grades 304, 316, 409, 441 and A286.

Mounting straps

  • Tank Straps and Mounting systems are normally designed to suit the specific customer requirement. They are used in many applications including fluid tank mounting, hatch straps, container mounting systems, and filter mounts.
  • Straps can be supplied in lengths of up to 3000mm, with material ranges from 0.6mm up to 1.6mm.
  • Mounting Straps are offered in high grade manufacturing materials to include Stainless Steel Grades 304, 316, 409, 441, A286, and Inconel 718.
